For the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Jaipur

Saturday, January 7, 2012: I arrived in Delhi last night. The flight was bumpy due to the inclement weather.

Today afternoon I attended the lunch at the India International Centre hosted by eminent danseuse Sonal Mansingh. I met many people and artistes from the Delhi art circuit, including cartoonist Sudhir Telang and theatre legend Ratan Thiyan whose play would be performed at the inaugural function of the much talked about Theatre Festival in Delhi.

Took the evening flight to Jaipur. The flight which normally takes 40 minutes to reach Jaipur from Delhi instead took 90 minutes. The flight circled the skies above Jaipur as the Prime Minister's flight was allowed to land first.

From the airport, I straight went to the City Palace where a dinner hosted by the External Affairs Minister on the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. I attended the dinner and interacted with many of the delegates who had come for the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas function in city.
