PM inaugurates Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Sunday, January 8, 2012: The Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh, in the morning which was followed by few sessions. During lunch I met Shashi Tharoor whom I knew during his UN days (picture).

In the afternoon paid a courtesy visit to the Governor, Shivraj Patel, and after that also joined the group of journalists from Kolkata in their meeting with the Governor (picture).
The group of journalists from Kolkata were very impressed with the intellect of Shivraj Patel and the 15-minute scheduled meeting with the journalists went on for more than an hour. 

No doubt the great old man of Indian politics has a lot of knowledge as he has served in many ministries.

In the evening I went to the Sisodia Gardens to have dinner hosted by the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot (picture).
