At Marc’s party in Hyatt Kolkata
Kolkata:
I arrived in city by evening flight from Delhi on Saturday evening
and went to Hyatt to attend a dinner party hosted by Hyatt
Kolkata General Manager, Marc Lorenz and his wife. It was an annual
bash which Marc organizes around this time of the year to say good
bye to the winter in style. Also, the last days of receding winter is
the time when open air party can be held before it gets too hot and
sultry.
Like
last year, this year also the party was at one of the Diplomat suites
of the Hotel which has a good-sized terrace. This year, and
unlike last year, Hyatt had a terrace covered from top. From
the terrace there is very crowded view of the city. Although winter
is almost over, there’s still this very pleasant cool breeze in the
evening.
By
the time I entered Hyatt it was around 10:30 pm. It was a
gathering of diplomats and Honorary Consuls of Kolkata. I was very
impressed with the menu of the international cuisine.
Yesterday evening I went to Birla Sabhaghar to see the English comedy presented by Sanskriti Sagar. It wasn’t worth the time. I felt though the actors and the director did a good job, the script was very loose. Usually, in a comedy of this kind one doesn’t expect the script to be something exceptional, however, yesterday’s play was quite below the mark. In fact many people left the auditorium during the interval.

I
have plans to travel again this week.
